Dadu, Sindh Province, Pakistan
462nd International City of Peace
Empathy, Collaboration, and Integrity
Nearly 200,000 people live in the Pakistani City of Dadu in the Sindh Province, which is home to multicultural communities speaking 16 languages: Muhajirs, Baloch, Punjabis, and smaller groups such as Memons, Bhils, and Jadgals. In Dadu, comes a peacemaker, Mr. Ali Murtaza Amirulbahar and his colleagues and partners who have established their community as an Interantional City of Peace. “I believe in the values of empathy,” Ali writes, “collaboration, and integrity, and I strive to lead by example.” His background in education has focused his attention on the welfare of children. By implementing an action plan (available on our ICP website in the Dadu Profile), their plan for increased safety, prosperity and quality of life “seeks to build a resilient, empowered, and harmonious community where safety, prosperity, and well-being are accessible to all members.” We are with Ali and the community of Dadu.
